Lesson topic: “Wild animals”
Age: kindergarten
Time: 1 x 30 min
Lesson objectives:
-developing vocabulary (an elephant, a kangaroo, a monkey, a penguin, a snake, a polar bear),
-learn how to imitate animals,
-developing visual-motor coordination,
-improving listening,
-improving speaking.
Materials:
-a hand puppet (teddy bear),
-a magic box,
-flashcards (an elephant, a kangaroo, a monkey, a penguin, a snake, a polar bear),
-a board game (paper plates with pictures),
-cards with special tasks,
-a big dice,
-“Look around” - the nursery rhyme,
-five pawns (animals),
Equipment:
-a loudspeaker,
-rugs.
Stages of the Lesson:
I. Warm up:
1. Greeting children with a teddy bear (the puppet):
-Hello! – What is your name?
-child: Hello! My name is...
II. Introduction:
1. “Magic box” – the teacher takes flashcards out from the magic box:
-What is it?
-It is a monkey, (an elephant, a kangaroo, a penguin, a snake, a polar bear),
-the teacher takes out flashcards and calls them - the children repeat after him.
III. Presentation:
1. ”Have you see a snake?”
Have you seen a snake?
Have you seen a snake?
Have you seen a snake somewhere near?
oh yes, oh yes, oh yes, oh yes, oh yes the snake is here.
-Children have pictures of animals on their foreheads. They are looking for the animal we are singing about and children have to point the animal (an elephant, a kangaroo, a monkey, a penguin, a snake, a polar bear).
IV. Practice:
1. “Move like...” – movement play;
-imitate the movement of animals (e.g. stamp like an elephant).
3. “I have, who has?”
- the teacher gives the children cards. The person who has the card with the star starts. In the upper picture is what the person has, in the bottom it is what he is looking for,
-I have the kangaroo. Who has the penguin?
4. “What animals can you see?” – the teacher shows part of the animal, children try to recognize the animal.
5. “Look around” - learn the nursery rhyme with moving, the teacher shows flashcards:

I can see an elephant looking at me.

What animals can you see?
I can see a monkey looking at me.
3. Look around, look around
What animals can you see?
I can see a kangaroo looking at me.

I can see a snake looking at me.

What animals can you see?
I can see a polar bear looking at me.
V. Evaluation:
1. ”Board game” – wild animals.
-the teacher puts the paper plates and cards with special tasks on the floor,
-the teacher divide children into 5 groups,
-children throw a dice and put their pawn on the correct plate and call them e.g. a snake,
-if the children stop in the field with a light bulb they have a special task e.g. waddle like a penguin.
VI. Closing:
1. Children say goodbye to the puppet - Goodbye Teddy!
