Subject: My favourite T-shirt is yellow with red squares.
Class: 4
Time: 45 minutes
Aims
Students will:
- revise the names of clothes and shapes,
- learn new vocabulary,
- improve reading , writing and speaking skills.
Methods: active methods, CLIL method
Materials: coursebook, interactive whiteboard, whiteboard, notebook, pictures
Procedure:
1. Greeting the class and checking the attendance.
2. Warm-up: brainstorm: students come to the whiteboard to write the names of clothes they know.
3. Speaking activity: volunteers say what they are wearing today.
4. Students come to the interactive whiteboard to match the shapes to the words - circle, line, rectangle, square, triangle.
5. Reading comprehension: students read the text, in their notebook, they match paragraphs 1-3 to pictures A-D presenting different pieces of clothing. There is one extra picture.
6. Students read the text in the previous exercise again. Their task is to complete the table and do a true or false activity.
7. Students describe the clothes in the pictures presented by a teacher.
8. Students have to design a T-shirt or a top with shapes.
9. Homework
Writing: students have to write a few sentences about the T-shirt or a top they have just designed.
TEXTS
1. This is my new top. It’s blue squares and triangles with orange and yellow lines. A small circle is in the top, too.
2. My favourite top is yellow with red squares, green lines and triangles. No rectangles and no circles.
3. My T-shirts are one colour. My favourite T-shirt is blue. There is one big rectangle and a small triangle. No squares or lines.
