GRAMMAR LESSON

I. PRE - TEACHING
1.Teacher hang on the blackboard a list of preposition of place /each student gets the same list with blank places for Polish equivalents/
2.Teacher introduces the students the subject of first lesson „Prepositions of place” and reads each preposition one by one, students repeat after him.

3.Teacher hangs on the blackboard a picture of the room with known by students furniture and some objects /each student gets the same picture/
4.Teacher describes the picture.
Student`s task is to:
• listen to describtion,
• observe the picture and
• guess the meaning of particulars prepositions:

Example:
Teacher: the dog is under the table.
: What does it meann „under”?
Students: „pod”
6.When students guess the meaning of particular preposition they write down Polish equivalents on a paper.

II. WHILE-TEACHING
1.Teacher asks students to prepeare 3 different objects like: pen, pencil, rubber.
2.Teacher describes relation of these objects to each other.
Students` task is: to show it.
Example:
Teacher: A pen is between rubber and pencil
Students: show this
3.After Students` show, teacher shows correct pattern- students have opportunity to check themselves.
4.Teacher provides students next task: sentences with gaps.
Students` task is to fill in the gaps using appropriate preposition of place, relying only on their mamory
Students work on their own.
TASK
1) DOG AND CAT ARE ..... THE ROOM.
2) THE FLAWER IS .... THE TABLE.
3) THE CAT IS .... YHE TABLE.
4) THE TABLE IS ..... THE WINDOW.
5) THE LAMP IS ...... YHE BED.
6) THE PICTURE IS ..... THE WINDOW.
7) THE CHAIR IS ..... THE TABLE.
8) THE BED IS ..... THE DOOR.
9) THE BED IS ..... OF THE ROOM.
10) THE DOOR ARE ....OF THE ROOM.
11) THE TABLE IS .... THE CHAIRS.
12) THE DOG IS .... THE BED.
5.When students are ready the answers are checked on forum.
III.POST-TEACHING
Students work in pairs – arranging objects according to partner`s describtion

VOCABULARY LESSON

I.PRE-TEACHING
1.Teacher hangs on the blackboard next picture with furniture and objects
• colours to recall it and
• pictures of 5 new words –patterns /each student gets an attachments with patterns vocabulary
2.Teacher pronounces each word and students repeat after the teacher.
3 Teacher gives the students text and new picture related to the text.
• Text:
MY ROOM IS A BIT BASIC BUT IT IS OK.THE WALL ARE WHITE. PLAIN BROWN CURTAINS ARE AT THE WINDOW. THE BED IS ON THE RIGHT OF THE DOOR. YELLOW, STRIPED DUVET IS ON THE BED.PINK DESK IS BEHIND THE BED.DARK GREEN LAMP IS ON THE DESK. PURPLE CHAIR IS IN FRONT OF THE DESK. I KEEP MY BLACK RADIO CASSETTE PLAYER NEAR THE BED.THE RED BOOKCASE IS UNDER THE BED, BUT BOOKS AREN`T IN IT. THE WINDOWS ARE OPPOSITE THE DOOR. BEIGE SPOTTED WARDROBE IS BETWEEN THE WINDOWS.BLUE AND WHITE ARMCHAIR IS ON THE LEFT OF THE WARDROBE. GREY RADIATOR IS ON THE RIGHT OF THE WARDROBE.THE NOTICE BOARD IS ABOVE THE RADIATOR. WHITE WASHBASIN IS IN THE CORNER OF THE ROOM.THE MIRROR IS ABOVE THE WASHBASIN. GREEN WASTEPAPER BIN IS UNDER THE WASHBASIN.ORANGE CARPET IS ON THE FLOOR.
• Teacher shows Students third picture with different arrangement
• Teacher pronounces each item from the picture, student repeat after him.

TASK for STUDENTS:
• Now Student know prepositions of place. They are asked to read the text and analyse the picture at the same time. On the base on their knowledge about prepositions of place students have to find and name furniture and objects on the picture.
• Students work on their own or in pairs
• When students are ready teacher checks the answers on forum.

II. WHILE-TEACHING
1.Teacher proposes students game : ”Guess what”
• Teacher gives students 5-7 minutes to memorize the greatest number of new words, then he asks students to close their notebooks and rely only on their knowledge and memory.
• Teacher or student using prepositions of place and new vocabulary describes localization of different objects in class or on the picture.-teacher /student always mentions where the object is on the picture or in the class.

Example:
Teacher: What is between 2 notice board in our class?
What is under the windows on the picture?
Students: provide the answer
2.Student work in pairs
• One of the students describes his room using prepositions of place and new vocabulary. His partner task is to draw the room according to the describtion.
• Students change the rools.
Teacher walks around the pairs, listen to students` statements and correct them if it is necessary.
• Students in pairs grade correction of drawing pictures.

III. POST-TEACHING.
• To help students to memorize the greatest number of new vocabulary and grammar teacher introduces competition. In these competition students rely only on their knowledge and memory.
• Teacher only points the object/ furniture or shows the preposition.
• Student who voices first and provides correct answer gets a point.
• Student who correctly names the greatest number of objects/furniture/prepositions of place win the competition.
